Case Tasks
#Overview
Case Tasks (/admin/case-tasks) is the firm's task board. It lists the work still to be done across your matters, such as filings, document reviews, research, client calls and court preparation, so deadlines don't slip.
#What you see
- A pending tasks list, sorted so the most urgent work is at the top
- The matter each task belongs to (or No matter for firm-wide tasks)
- Who each task is assigned to and when it is scheduled
#How to create a task
-
Click Add a new task.
-
Fill in the form:

| Title |
A short description (optional) |
| Task type |
Filing, Document Review, Research, Client Call, or Court Prep |

Anything the assignee needs to know |
-
Save. The task appears in the pending list.
A matter can only have one open task of each type, so the board doesn't fill up with duplicates.
#How to work a task
- The assignee clicks Start and the task moves to In Progress.
- When the work is finished, click Done.
- If a task is no longer needed, use Cancel task.
#Board view
Switch List to Board for a column per status. Drag a card, or use its Move to… menu, to change the
status. The board opens on Assigned to me; roles that see every task can switch to Everyone. Done shows the
last 14 days. See Matter Board & Stages.
#Notes
#Best Practices
- Review the board at the start and end of each day.
- Use Urgent priority sparingly, so it still means something.
- Attach tasks to a matter whenever you can, so the matter history stays complete.
